Andy is an experienced practitioner, with more than twenty year experience in the public sector. Andy has spent many years working in the areas of health and social card and economic, skills, and community and enterprise development. He began his career in the private sector with specific expertise in business analysis and organisational change. Andy’s career in the public sector includes direct responsibility for large scale public engagement and community consultation programmes, mainstream workforce development and skills programmes as well as managing multi-million pound programmes. Andy is also a Director of a local Development Trust with a passion for community engagement and activism.
Andy is also a recognised trainer having delivered courses in subjects as diverse as European Structural Funds, community cohesion and capacity building for elected members. Within research and consultancy, Andy has specific expertise in insight research, consultation, feasibility studies, evaluation, facilitation and business planning. He has worked with a diverse range of organisations and stakeholders delivering assignments within social inclusion, skills and education, public health, lifelong learning and economic and social renewal. Andy is also an expert in digital engagement, drawing on his experience in systems development, public engagement and insight.
Recent work with AMP:
— Convening and moderating a patient participation forum, bringing together all the PPGs in a PCT area in a development, networking and good practice sharing setting;
— Delivering an online research community to gather opinion from working age people to inform primary care commissioning decisions;
— Providing insight research for social marketing campaigns in subjects including, smoking cessation, weight management, bowel cancer, breast feeding and drug/alcohol harm reduction;
